Connect or Transfer Service

Disconnected for Non-Payment

If you have been disconnected for non-payment, please complete the application for re-connect that is provided below and bring it to our office. When you come to our office please have ready a completed application, the amount due for the re-connect fees and the payment for the past due amount on your bill. Our address is provided below. Please note that the main electrical breaker should be in the OFF position for DCEC to re-connect service. To the right are re-connect applications for residential and seasonal members. A member is considered a residential member if their Delaware County Electric Cooperative service location is their primary residence at least 7 months per year and they have a local billing address. A member is considered seasonal if their service location is their second home and their primary residence and billing address are elsewhere.

If you would like to re-connect an existing service that has been discontinued for reasons other than non-payment a reconnect contract is required to re-connect an existing service if it is the same person and same location. The only exception is if the existing location is the same person and same location then a connect contract is required. The connect contracts are provided to the right for residential and seasonal members.

Reconnect Fee—In 3 business days $30
Reconnect Fee-By 4:00 next business day $50
Reconnect Fee—After Hours $150


The collection fee is for a trip charge that is applied when we go to a location for various reasons such as: if we go to disconnect and collect payment instead, if we go to hang a door knocker to notify a member of a pending disconnect, or if we go to check out a potential problem and it is on the member’s side of the meter. The current bill, past due bill, and fees must be paid before service will be restored. Please note that further fees may apply under different disconnect circumstances. Electric Connection Form

To add another meter to an existing service a connect contract is required. Please complete the form to the right and mail it or deliver it to our office, which is located on 39 Elm Street. To the right are the electric connection applications for residential and seasonal members. A member is considered a residential member if their Delaware County Electric Cooperative service location is their primary residence at least 7 months per year and they have a local billing address. A member is considered seasonal if their service location is their second home and their primary residence and billing address are elsewhere.

Transfer of Service

If you are transferring service to another person’s name because the property has been sold, the buyer must contact Delaware County Electric Cooperative for details on how to correctly transfer the service.

Would you like the power to be turned off?

Renting

A renter must pay a membership fee and a connect fees as appropriate.

Please call our office at 607-746-2341 for details pertaining to a particular rental situation. A renter must also complete the corresponding contract and provide a $150.00 consumer deposit. The $150.00 deposit is reimbursed after 12 months of consecutive on time payments.
